2015 Terrasses du Larzac, Les Amoriers
This blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre is aged for 2 years in the winemaker’s cellar. It brings a nose of blackberries with some smoked vanilla undertones. On the palate, you get ripe black fruits and tobacco and chocolate, and it gives a long finish with hints of leather. The food pairing would be anything with meat or game. The wine is ready to drink from now on and for another 5 years and has been awarded a 90/100 by the Wine enthusiast.
Domaine les Caizergues is a family-owned vineyard that nestles in the foothills of the Cévennes to the north of Montpellier in the south of France. All the wines produced on this small estate are made with real passion, dedication and oodles of skill. Rich and fruity, the wines bear witness to the vineyard’s wonderfully warm, sunny climate. They also exhibit all the freshness you would expect from its location high up in the hills. The estate is now well on its way towards formal organic accreditation and keeping things as natural as possible is the philosophy of the cellar.
