2016 Cotes du Rhone, Variations
Where to begin? The mulled black fruits dance with licorice, while flirting shamelessly with soft tannis and the delicately plump aroma of ripe prunes. The link between nose and palate is seamless and the finish seems endless – this is a genuine Côtes du Rhône at it’s zenith.
Domaine Maby is located in the heart of the Côtes du Rhône area and the estate’s sixty hectares cover three different appellations: Tavel, Lirac, and Côtes du Rhône. The family cultivate the land with the utmost respect for the environment having signed a Sustainable Agriculture contract enabling them to ensure their soils are allowed to fully express themselves. Vines planted on more sandy and shale type soils enable the Maby domain to offer an ever more impressive range of red, white and rosé wines as Domaine Maby wines continue to be sold domestically and internationally, being appreciated as far afield as North America and Asia.
For many years now, major wine competitions have been rewarding their excellence with Gold Medals from Orange and Macon as well as the Paris General Agricultural Competition while Maby wines are cited in specialist guides from Hugh Johnson, Oz Clarke and Jacqueline Friedrich to Guide Hachette, Bettane and Revue du Vin de France.
