Château haute Fontaine

Château haute Fontaine

In the sunniest part of the country, overlooking the étang de Bages and the Mediterranean Sea, Chateau Haute Fontaine is ten minutes from Narbonne, the second oldest city in France. The estate extends to seven hundred acres; comprising parkland, over sixty acres of vines and a vast expanses of wild garrigue on the Massif de Fontfroide – an environment that is truly Mediterranean.

We strive to capture in a bottle the extraordinary natural beauty of this vineyard and its surrounding wild garrigue. The wine being as unpredictable and alluring as the region, as no two years are the same and every sweet taste is different. The combination of gentle winter and spring rains to supplement the continuous source of water that flows mysteriously under the domaine, along with our sun-kissed summers help to ripen the fruit to perfect maturity.

We avoid all pesticides and herbicides, working hand-in-hand with nature, respecting her fragile balance by using only organic methods to control pests and diseases when necessary, ensuring that our wines are as natural as they are memorable. When you open a bottle of our wine, we hope you experience through the aromas and flavours the magic of Haute Fontaine.

Traditional techniques and old world know combine with modern equipment to produce wines of exceptional quality and personality. The wines are vinified in modern stainless steel vats, with temperatures and atmospheric gases carefully controlled, while the premium wines are raised in oak barrels and others mature in vats to produce fruity wines that are clean on the palette with full, complex aromas and flavours capturing the natural beauty of the vineyard.
